i created soundscapes for project b’s debut tokyo tour launch campaign. they reached out to me to capture field recordings from major stations in tokyo to create an ambient soundscape for the promo clips. the goal was to give the sonic impression of walking on the street, entering a station, a train bound for tokyo was arriving (with an announcement), and finally getting on to the train. this had to all be translated in around 10 seconds for short-form media—which proved to be a challenge. the key here was knowing where to record to actually get this scene to play out, but with a few visits around tokyo and some clever editing, I managed to create the soundscape.
